OPEN ACCESS ENDOSCOPY?
Our open access gastroscopy and colonoscopy service enables your GP to schedule you for a gastroscopy or colonoscopy, without the need to visit a specialist first.

BOWEL CANCER SCREENING
Screening tests detect cancers or pre-cancerous lesions early. Bowel cancer screening can reduce the risk of death from bowel cancer. Starting at age 50 all men and women have regular bowel screening. If you have symptoms or have a relative bowel cancer you may need to start at an earlier age.

HEARTBURN, REFLUX, GORD
Heartburn or reflux happens when the acidic contents of the stomach back up into the oesophagus causing a burning sensation. As a result patients can develop inflammation or ulceration of the oesophagus. Chronic reflux can cause Barrett's oesophagus, a premalignant condition. A gastroscopy allows the specialist to check for these complications.
